MAJOR MARKETS  

 

United States: The US is still the world's largest consumer, so it is Bridge's home base and major market for selling as well as buying. Bridge specializes in assisting producers penetrate and navigate lucrative US markets. Bridge's top-selling product is frozen peas and carrots, which is sold all across the country.

  Canada: Thanks to the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA), dealing with Canada is just like working with a domestic company. Bridge capitalizes on the NAFTA agreement to orchestrate outstanding money-saving deals for customers. Fresh produce comes in from Canada on a daily basis.
  China: Bridge has powerful partnerships in China that achieve incredible produce sourcing flexibility for our customers. In Yunan, known as the "Shangri-La" of China, the year-round weather is like late May in the Northeast US. Bridge's access to Yunan, China, includes 30,000 acres of land (including 2,000 acres of greenhouse) enabling cultivation of almost any vegetable--365 days a year!  
  Morocco: Bridge coordinates with Moroccan producers to execute cost-effective deals for customers that take advantage of the US and Morocco Free Trade Agreement. For example, importing Moroccan Olives into the US is considerably cheaper than importing Spanish olives--simply because of the tariff savings.    
 

Mexico: An excellent source for oriental vegetables, broccoli, limes, lemons, onions, mangoes, and papaya. Bridge specializes in setting up special programs for customers that encompass shipping and acquisition programs to and from Mexico.

 

Taiwan: World-renowned producer of exotic produce such as starfruit, lychee, and longan. Bridge is currently building Taiwanese relationships for the import of seafoods.  

 

Turkey: An excellent source of exciting import and export opportunities. Specialties include oils, grains, and middle eastern desserts such as baklava and halvah. Turkey is one of the world leaders in the export of organic and conventional dried fruits; in 2005, especially, Turkey is producing superior-quality dried apricots.  

CARIBBEAN BASIN, CENTRAL AND SOUTH AMERICA  

The Caribbean Basin Free Trade Agreement makes most items duty-free for import to the United States. The agreement encourages two-way trade between the US and Caribbean Basin. As a result, the Caribbean basin is an exciting market with incredible growth potential. Bridge International has numerous areas of expertise in this burgeoning market.  

 

Colombia: Produces some of the best yucca (plantains) in the world. Colombia is a largely untapped source of superior-quality limes; asparagus; specialty vegetables; and fruit nectar, juices, and pulp. Colombia also has opportunities for shortenings, oils and textiles.

 

Guatemala: An outstanding source and market for many vegetables and fruits, including snow peas, snap peas, mangoes, specialty squash, and other specialty items. Bridge excels in orchestrating direct deals between customers and Guatemalan co-ops and small farmers.  

 

Panama: An oasis for tropical fruits and vegetables, such as calabaza, bananas, melons, hard squashes, cucumbers, and other hard vegetables (which compliment perfectly lulls in U.S. production). In Panama, Bridge specializes in sourcing for Holland type peppers (red, yellow, orange, black and white) and coordinating deals directly with Panamanian growers.    

 

Ecuador: Known for it plantains and tubers, including yuca, yautia, malanga, etc. Ecuador is an excellent alternative to higher-priced markets; delivering superior-quality, cost-effective food solutions. Ecuador's producers are expanding their crops to include nontraditional foods, such as lemons and limes. Bridge also has contacts in Ecuador for specialty fish and seafood items.  

 

Costa Rica: An excellent source of calabaza, yuca, yams, ginger, and bananas. Increasingly, Costa Rica producers are involved in specialty gourmet produce, creating unique, promising sourcing opportunities.  

 

Trinidad: Bridge imports and exports to Trinidad with equal success. Trinidad produces outstanding tropical fruits and vegetables.Trinidad is world renouned for its superior quality calabaza, hot peppers and cilantro.
